Vivid Lock-In Treatment (Elumen)

What the treatment involves

The Lock step is applied to towel-dried hair after the Elumen colour has been rinsed out.

• Product is worked through for around 5 minutes
• Hair is then thoroughly rinsed
• The whole step is brief, which is why it can appear on the menu as taking from 15 minutes, though the overall colour service (application and processing) will take longer

What to expect

• A sealed-in colour finish with noticeably higher shine
• Improved colour retention compared with Elumen colour used on its own
• Results depend on your hair's condition, porosity, and colour history, as with any direct colour system
• Some lighter Elumen shades may not strictly need the Lock step, but it's commonly included as standard for the best longevity

Aftercare and preparation

A little care afterwards goes a long way in keeping vivid colour looking fresh.

• Use a colour-safe shampoo and conditioner
• Avoid heavy product buildup on the hair
• Wash less frequently where possible to preserve the result
• A patch test 48 hours before the service is commonly recommended
• For best pigment deposit, Elumen works best on clean, product-free hair, so let your stylist know about recent treatments or products used
