Demi Colour is a demi-permanent colouring service that deposits tone without lifting the hair, ideal for refreshing dull colour, deepening your natural shade, blending early greys or toning pre-lightened hair. It's a gentler alternative to permanent colour, well suited to anyone wanting subtle, natural-looking results with added shine.

What to expect
Your appointment starts with a consultation to assess hair type, porosity and colour history, which shapes the formula and processing time.
- Hair is sectioned into quadrants for even, methodical application
- A bespoke demi-permanent formula is mixed with a low-volume developer (commonly 5 or 10 volume)
- Colour processes for around 20 to 30 minutes, generally without heat
- Hair is rinsed with cool to lukewarm water, then conditioned to lock in shine
- Finished with a blow-dry or style to reveal the result
Who it suits
Demi Colour works well for most hair types, particularly fragile, previously lightened, or textured hair that needs a lighter touch than permanent colour.
- Refreshing faded or dull lengths between fuller colour services
- Deepening or enriching your natural shade
- Toning highlights or balayage
- Softly blending early greys (though full opaque coverage may need a permanent option)
- Often combined with permanent colour on roots and demi through the mid-lengths and ends
Longevity and aftercare
Results are soft and natural, fading gradually rather than leaving a hard regrowth line.
- Colour typically lasts 4 to 6 weeks, depending on porosity and haircare routine
- Sulfate-free, colour-safe shampoo and cooler water help extend vibrancy
- Reducing wash frequency and using heat protectant before styling slows fading
- UV/colour-protect spray is useful for time spent outdoors
